About me

Thanks for stopping by!

I have been designing and building software professionally for well over a decade. I'm familiar with modern tools, processes, and culture. I love figuring out what to build either on top of what we already have, or what we don't have.

Being a designer I focus on

Being a designer I focus on

  • What to work on (what gives the most impact)

  • What steps to take to get there

  • How to connect the dots across the board

  • How to do more with less

  • Figuring out simple solutions

Simple solutions are easy to say but hard to achieve. You know you're on the right path with your design concept when people usually just go, 'That’s it?'

Let's get personal!

I'm a dad of three kids, happily married (yes, we did!), and located in southern Sweden. I commute to work by bus even though I have a car. (On the bus, I can get busy with my laptop! Sometimes I ride my bike.)

Originally from Hungary 🇭🇺 I've found my wife in Skåneland, and my home among the green hills. I'm proudly learning Swedish 🇸🇪, and working on my local accent.

Spending my free time I love Nintendo, the Commodore 64 platform (which was my original poison), and doing sports, whenever I can. I love pixel art, sometimes create studies, or contribute to a Hungarian tech and lifestyle podcast together with a friend.

My first name, József, is the Hungarian version of Joseph. In Hungarian it's often shortened to Józsi, which, when pronounced in English-speaking countries, sounds like Yoshi. This nickname has stuck, and that's what people usually call me.

Questions

Question: Did you make this website? It looks pretty simple, feels like you used a template.

Answer: I built it starting out from a blank page.

Q: What tools did you use to build it?
A: Figma and Framer.

Q: Framer doesn't support setting passwords to individual pages. How did you do that?

A: I learnt most of this stuff while building this site. Fun.

Q: Personas? Opportunity workshops? 5 why's exercises? Do you also know those?

A: 🫠 I use tools as needed, but never just to check boxes.

You read it all the way through, yay!
